I'm using the CXN100 + CXA81 MK II. My TV is connected directly to the amp, so I can use the amp for TV audio without turning on the streamer.
I have created an automation with the Cambridge Audio Home Assistant integration that synchronizes amplifier volume with TV volume changes (using the StreamMagic API and the Control Bus).
The current control bus works well for volume sync, but I'd love to see these additions across all Cambridge Audio models with control bus support:
Requested Features for the StreamMagic API
1. Input Source Control
Switch between inputs of the amp via control bus
Selecting an input should turn on the amp, like the remote control already does
2. Speaker Output Control
Switch between speaker outputs of the amp via control bus
3. Independent Amp Power Control
Control bus currently only mirrors streamer power state
Would be great to power compatible amps on/off independently via control bus
Use Cases
TV automation: When TV turns on → power amp + select digital input
Multi-room: Switch to different speaker outputs for different zones
Smart scenes: "Movie Night" could set everything automatically
This would make the Cambridge ecosystem much more compelling for smart home users across the entire product range. Anyone else interested in this functionality?
