Wow! I’m excited! Was just recently turned on to this remarkable, free streaming site. They describe themselves as such: “Internet Archive is a non-profit library of millions of free texts, movies, software, music, websites, and more.“ HUUUUGE resource. Anyone ever hear of this? Tons of live concerts. Most seem to be high quality recordings from the sound board. Tons of ‘collections’, rare lp’s, you name it. Each selection is full of detail ranging from dates, location, musicians to any recording quirks. Like “Fades slighty at end of third track” or any other flaw that may be present. The attention to detail is impressive. I have only scratched the surface. There’s a huge section of 78’s and cylindrical recordings, if you’re into that. Tons of audio books. I’ve been pulling up Internet Archive on my iPad and streaming it to my Cambridge CXN V2. Sounds wonderful! Have yet to explore audio books to any extent or the movies, software or websites(?). More entertainment than can be consumed in one lifetime! Check it out! Google ‘Internet Archive’ and plan on spending hours exploring! ENJOY!
Minor downside. If you are playing something (in music, anyway) and go back to the menu to look while you listen, the tune will stop. You have to stay on that page for the tune to play uninterrupted. Explained poorly by me but you’ll know what I mean soon enough.
