CXN v2

I'm new to the forum, so apologies my first post relates to an issue.

I have a CXN V2, with a wired LAN connection to a BT Business line. My phone (Samsung S24) is also connected to the same line. I use my phone to operate the app, but disable my VPN, as this used to prevent the app working.

I am really struggling to get the CXN to connect to Spotify Connect. I gave up with Tidal and cancelled my account. I can, if I use the interface on the front of the CXN get it to connect, but it is temporary and is hit and miss (I manually select wired connection). Chromecast - when I give up on Spotify, just says 'connecting', but never does.

I have tried factory reset on the CXN, uninstalling the Cambridge app, cache etc in settings and restarting my devices, but nothing seems to work. TBH, it has always been a bit temperamental in terms of connection, but it is pretty chronic now. The CXN's display will show the tune I've selected and it looks as though it is playing, but no sound comes out...until I do the manual connect...as soon as I disconnect the device, the whole hit and miss process starts again.

All connections have also been checked.

Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve this, please? I do like the quality of the streamer, but am running out of ideas.
