Hey guys. So here's the scenario I'm in.
We live in an open floor plan loft condo and the loft serves as my office and listening space. I currently have a CX stack (CXN100, CXC, CXA81, and Alta TT v2) connected to a pair of Sonus Faber Sonetto VIIIs. About a year ago, my wife's job required that she go in earlier and because of that, she goes to bed earlier. In order to not interfere with her sleep, my evening listening has changed to me using a Sony NW-WM1AM2 (Japanese version with high gain option) with a pair of Meze Audio 109 Pros and I sit in the living room. And I've been pretty happy with this setup for the evening.
For my 50th birthday, my wife bought me the Meze Audio Empyrean II yesterday and the Sony has a bit of a hard time driving them. So what I was thinking was getting a dedicated headphone amp and connecting the headphone amp to CXN.
Firstly, can I connect the CXN100 to two different amps at the same time (the CXN is connected to the CXA via XLR) with only one of them being on at a time? Secondly, headphone amps aren't something I've spent much time looking at, are there ones that anyone here would recommend that I research?
Due to Covid, my space had to be re-orientated to allow for a desk for WFH and it isn't optimal, so the headphone amp would probably be about 12 feet from the CXN in order to be next to my listening space. I'm including two pics to show the space that I'm working with.
Any advice and guidance is greatly appreciated.
