I've had my Cambridge setup now for a couple of years: it's great! The whole line: CXN network player, CXC cd transport, CXA81 amp. With the KEF speakers it's a great set up. But the CXC has a behavior that's odd. I have thousands of CDs some dating back 40 years now. They all play great, sound fantastic and the transport has no issues with them. But...recently Sony has been issuing these gigantic boxed sets based on famous conductors, violinists, etc. The CXC rejects at least half of them! Insert them and the disk spins and spins then eventually I either get NO DISK or the door opens and spits the CD out. When I put the same disk in my 25 year old Marantz player it plays perfectly. There's something about the data on these Sony cds that the CXC doesn't like; at least my transport doesn't like. Yet it has no trouble at all with non-Sony-big-box cds. Even the boxed set from EMI (Warner) aren't a problem. Just the Sony disks. How can that be?
